9 f AK-SAR-BEN TURF NOTES | 3 — @ A. C. Chestnut of Cincinnati, has two head ready for the opening of Ak-Sar-Ben on May 27. They are Upset Macaw and Galley Sweep. Present at Omaha are the Deahl family from Panhandle, Tex. H. T. Deahl came up from Hot Springs with Olo Mor, Halluci-nator, Gamaliel, Motoring Miss and Someone Else. C. E. Deahl, when he brings up the balance which are racing under Tom Deahl at Fairmount Park, will have here My Colin, Indian Boy, Fast Move, Neil Jay, Parva Stella, Little Coed, Well Built, Heno Lion, Utica Lad and Club Soda. L. Downard of Lincoln, whose Vi San was a winner last year, has that gelding back again with another, Royal R. Both are Nebraska-breds. The stable of Fred Derby, always one of the important contenders for Nebraska honors, arrived this week from Lincoln, where they have been quartered at the state fair grounds. Included are Rare Ben, Little Wick, Star Royal, and the Nebraska-breds, Le Karonga, Brown Cody, Tango Queen, Seths Warrior and the two-year-olds, Mary Fame and Lady Seth. Marion Barton, formerly associated with Dr. F. W. Cairys Sioux City stable, expects to score some victories at Ak-Sar-Ben with his horses, Billie Dee Or, Jajr D., Our Spot and Lulu Khayyam. From Almena, Kans... John C. Arford brought two likely-looking Nebraska-breds, Don Quickshot and Penelope B.
