PRESIDENTS BEEF SUGGESTION WASHINGTON, D. C, May 19.— President Roosevelt today suggested that the next step in the Argentine beef controversy might be an improvement of the brand and a lowering of the price of the American product. This suggestion came at his press conference when the President was asked if he regarded the question settled. Mr. Roosevelt said he did not think so. As -ed whether he might veto the navy appropriation bill because of the amendment, forbidding purchase of foreign supplies, the President said he had not read the measure.
