HIGH RENOWN, taken in hand after opening a commanding lead in the first three-sixteenths and saving ground throughout, quickly increased his advantage when shaken up in the stretch and held sway easily through the final eighth. ODDESA UPSET was a strong factor from the start and, holding on well, wore down CHIEFS BOY in the closing stages. The latter, also a sharp contender from the outset, was on the inside after three-eighths and tired slightly near the end. QUICK QUICK, placed outside the stalls for the start, raced wide throughout and showed a fair effort. CLANSMAID was in close quarters early. GOLDSMITH was crowded back. Scratched— 72665 Jockeb, 108. CHARTING worked her way clear after about three-sixteenths, was under good restraint rounding the turn, swerved out entering the stretch and held on well in the drive. NOTICING, blocked soon after the start and taken to the outside when clear, was far back for a half mile, but came with good belated speed thereafter.
