ATTORNEY-GENERAL ON COAST LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 24.— To begin what he termed a personal investigation of an enormous swindle, Attorney-General Frank Murphy arrived in Los Angeles with J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI. Murphys announcement was made as the plane bearing the men neared Los Angeles, but he did not elaborate on the* case, stating only that he "sent a man to Los Angeles three weeks ago to make a survey." United States District Attorney Benjamin Harrison declared he had no knowledge of the "swindle."
