BRIGHT AND EARLY displayed speed from the start, was placed under pressure entering the stretch, but began to bear out and finished wide with WOODSIA on the outside. The latter was well up all th« way, responded when placed under pressure in the stretch run and was slightly impeded by the winner. BUENO ORO was outrun in the early stages, made a determined bid in the stretch, but could not menace the leaders. R1TORNO was well up from the start, saved ground entering the stretch and then hung at the finish. CHAMELEON had no excuses in the running. Won easily; second and third the same. SAILOR BEWARE displayed speed throughout while jumping well and held his opposition safe to the end. BRANT was taken under restraint the first turn of the field, saved ground at the final three fences and finished well under pressure. BUCK LANGHORNE was well up from the start and showed a good effort. NATIONAL ANTHEM, a trailer until the final half mile, finished well. BELLRINGER raced in close pursuit of the pace from the start, moved up on the outside, when urged in the stretch run and finished fast, wearing down CANTOVINO at the finish. The latter was sprinted into command at the start, showed speed throughout while saving ground and had no excuses. RICCADONNA was outrun in the early stages, saved ground all the way, but couldnt menace the leaders at the finish. SEMAPHORE lacked speed from the start, came to the outside in the stretch, then faltered. CYCLE, away well and under restraint the first part, quit under urging at the end. STATE WITNESS had a flash of early speed and then quit. CREDENCE and NINETY GRAND were outrun throughout. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Widener Course. JOHNS HEIR was a forward factor from the start, was placed under pressure in the stretch run and finished gamely. MAHDI showed speed while racing true and had no excuse. BILL FARNSWORTH raced forwardly from the start and had no mishaps. WOODBERRY had no excuses. PREEMINENT broke from outside the stalls and showed a good effort. NEAP had no excuses. BE QUAINT could not keep up. MAELINE showed a flash of speed. ROY T. had no mishaps at any stage. BAIN MARIE was placed under pressure entering the stretch and then finished fast. GRANDEVER droppd back after the break and showed dull speed under pressure in the stretch run.
