BLACK BRUMMEL READY DETROIT, Mich., May 24.— Black Brum-mel, two-year-old son of St. James, which races for Charles H. Ferguson, showed his fitness this morning at the Detroit Fair Grounds when he went a handy half mile in :47. Black Brummel, which was second to Roman in the Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs, is expected to make his local debut Saturday in the St. Clair Stakes. The Ferguson youngster went the quarter in :22% and the three-eighths in :34%.
