FIVE STAKES IN FIVE DAYS Lincoln Fields Schedules Quintet of Attractions From Opening Day to-and Including Decoration Day. CRETE, 111., May 24— On three big racing days, from Thursday, when the season begins, and next Tuesday, Decoration Day, five stakes will be offered patrons at Lincoln Fields. The Crete Handicap, appealing to older sprinters, is the feature of the inaugural program. Two days later the Dearborn Handicap, a dash of five-eighths for juvenile fillies, and the Kankakee Handicap, a mile sprint for older fillies and mares, jointly top j the card, and then on Decoration Day the track will offer runnings of the Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap, a mile sprint for horses of both sexes, and the Chicago Heights Handicap, a five furlongs sprint for two-year-old colts and geldings. Lincoln Fields is looking forward to a splendid opening and a big Saturday, but the biggest crowd of the Crete meeting probably will turn out next Tuesday. To assure this attendance on Decoration Day the weather needs only to be fair. Officials of the track report a heavy demand for box and clubhouse reservations and many inquiries about the general enclosures. Clubhouse admission, as in the past, will be and general admission , both prices including all taxes. Daily trains on the C. and E. I. railroad will leave the Dearborn station at 12:30, 12:50 and 1:10 p. m., city time, and on Decoration Day the first race track special will leave at 12 oclock noon, city time, with others leaving every few minutes until the last train at 1:10 p. m. For the convenience of its patrons these trains will stop at 47th and 63rd streets in both directions. Round trip fare will be 3" 75 cents. I
