j MARYLAND OFFERS INCENTIVE TO INSTALL T0TALISAT0RS BALTIMORE, Md., May 24.— In an endeavor to encourage installation of totali-sators at Laurel, Havre de Grace and Bowie, the Maryland Racing Commission announced today that one-mile tracks with totalisators will be permitted a "take" of 10 per cent in the betting instead of 9 1-2 per cent as they now receive. At the last session of the legislature, a bill was introduced which would force all the tracks to install totalisators, but it was defeated. Pimlico is the lone Maryland course that now uses a "tote."
