FLYING HEART was in the thick of contention all the way and held on gamely under a hard drive. BARRACA bettered her position on the outside .when in full stride. PRINCE JOCK came strongly in the final drive. SAIL BY tired in the stretch drive after racing forwardly. WHITTLE PETE went into the air at the break. He showed speed in the first half mile. MISS TRYCOM, away in the first flight and in close pursuit of CHIEF HOLLIS, responded gamely for the final drive and was up in the last few yards. CHIEF HOLLIS had good speed while setting the pace, . saved ground and fought it out stoutly in the final issue. FREDS WARNING was prominent all the way and held on well. MR. DEEDS was backing into the stalls when the start came, broke off stride and was blocked on the turn, only for which he may have been closer. MISS DOLLY KAY could not better her position. BLOND REEL was away poorly and had no chance. TOBIAS broke from outside the stalls and was outrun. BURSTING had no speed. SHANTEB, strongly handled, was kept close to the pacemaker, rallied to punishment when reaching the stretch, overhauled SHEBANG in the final sixteenth and held on stoutly to withstand NATIONAL. The latter, kept within striking distance of the leaders, finished full of run between horses at the end. HAGERSTOWN BOY raced in the thick of contention and held on willingly after making strong bids. SHEBANG set a fast pace, but tired at the finish. GOLDEN KEY was prominent for five-eighths, then tired. HIGHDEAR raced well. MISLED and MILRAY were outrun. ELSIE J. forced a steady pace while closest to the winner, drew on almost even terms entering the stretch, then tired under punishment. ADO worked his way forward gradually, but could not gain during the final drive. GOANTELL lost ground while bettering her position. CANTERET showed a flash of speed for five-eighths. RUNNING HEEL was outrun. CHILLY EBBIE tired early. LOCOMOTIVE was held safe. The latter, reserved off the pace, bettered his position when shaken up and closed full of run. CHANNING raced to the winner midway of the back stretch, but tired in the final drive. CANIMAR was away very slowly, dropped far back and failed to menace. DUNRITA was done after three-quarters. UNLIMITED raced poorly and can do much better. JOLIE KNIGHT also performed in dull fashion.
