WITAN, in close quarters early, improved his position on the inside, responded to strong urging when reaching the lead, was unable to draw clear, but held on to outfinish SURE CLOUD. The latter, rushed to the front, gave way to the winner, was forced to lose ground entering the stretch and, coming again rapidlv, held on tenaciously. GOLDEN ARIEL worked her way forwardly through the field and closed with a rush. FUMBLE, hustled along from the start, finished strongly. ORPHAN LASS tired. MANDAS BABY raced wide. HENRY M., slow to begin, forged forward through the field, took command .entering the stretch, established a good lead rapidly and won easily. B EIGHTY, hustled along from the start, forged to the front ncaring the final quarter, was unable to draw clear and tired after relinquishing the lead. ,VIRBET, in close quarters early, improved his position when clear and, despite losing ground after five-sixteenths, held on well. LADINO came from well back. AVIRAB showed a good effort under weak handling. BLUE GROTTO tired. SERVANT PRIDE was done after a half mile. PROSY, going in his best form and steadied along after reaching contention, was permitted to carry IRENES BOB wide entering the stretch, forged to the front approaching the final eighth, bore over on COSSACK GIRL when drawing clear and won drawing away, but was disqualified for fouling and placed second. COSSACK GIRL, rushed forward on the inside, offered a bold bid after reaching the stretch, was forced to the rail by PROSY and was taken in hand in the last strides. ABSCONDER, slow to begin, improved his position rapidly after a quarter and finished well. IRENES BOB sprinted into a good lead during the operiine; quarter, set a good pace for a half mile, was forced wide by PROSY and tired thereafter. SWEEPING TIDE showed speed. The latter, hustled along from the start, forged to the front when inside the final sixteenth, was inclined to bear to the inside thereafter and, but for this, would probably have been the winner. HY SONNY sprinted into a good lead early, increased his advantage after a quarter and, after enjoying a big advantage to the final eighth, tired rapidly. DEDICATION made up ground. SHOW UP, breaking from outside and a strong factor from the start, moved into command after rounding the far turn, drew clear under light urging, gave way to the winner, but held on well. DISSEMBLER, outrun early, improved his position rapidly after five-eighths and finished well. ALL LADY, never far back and steadied along early, tired after offering a bold bid approaching the stretch. DETROIT BULL was unable to keep up. MATCHUP was outrun. IMPERIAL SIR. a strong factor from the start, was forced wide entering the stretch and came again when straight. AUTOGRAPH, a strong factor from the start, was taken back at the far turn and showed little thereafter. YOUR BUDDY was outrun. PATROL SCOUT showed a dull effort. LITTLE DRIFT quit. RESPHA improved her position after five-eighths, wore down DERBY DAWN in the last stages, but could not hold the winner. DERBY DAWN, going in her best form and, reserved early, established a good lead after wearing down COTTINGHAM, was under strong urging in the last stages, but failed to last. GOOD MEMORY improved position through the field and closed with a rush.- COTTINGHAM, rushed to the front, was unable to draw clear, then gave way after rounding the far turn, but held on well. MERNE came from well back. HENRIETTA C, never far back, broke down when improving her position ncaring the final quarter and was destroyed. Overweight — Imperial Queen, 1 pound; Meridian Time, 4. GETAWAY JACK made up ground. GYRAL showed little. QUICKER tired after improving his position. JADVA was done after five-eighths. Overweight — Getaway Jack, 1 pound.
