■ BAR FLY WOODBINE WINNER Parkwood Stable Horse Takes King Edward Gold Cup Handicap. ! Carries 121 Pounds and Scores a Thrilling Victory Under the Guidance of Albert Schmidl. TORONTO, Ont., May 24.— Bar Fly, brown Black Toney and Bottle Green gelding, ac-. counted for his third straight victory and his second stake of the meetingfor the Park-jwood Stable of R. S. McLaughlin when he added his name to the long list of King Ed-Iward Gold Cup Handicap winners. Ridden I by Albert Schmidl in brilliant fashion, he : drove to a thrilling score under the top impost of 121 pounds. Ghost Queen, under the feather of 105 pounds, was the narrowest of margins back at the end of the mile and one-sixteenth. Third honors went to Unfailing from the stable, of K. T. Dawes. More than 20,000 jammed the Woodbine course of the Ontario Jockey Club on Victoria Day. Clear sunny skies prevailed with a cool wind sweeping the course while the track was at its best. Bar Fly raced the mile and one-sixteenth in 1:46 % with the race run in the fractional times of :23%, :47%, 1:13, 1:39% and earned the winners portion of ,180. Kings Colors juvenile son of Royal Minstrel and Flutter, making his first appearance under silks for the Parkwood Stables, accounted for the thirty-fourth running of the Victoria Stakes, sub-feature of the holiday program. Ridden by A. Schmidl, the sturdy bay colt under mild pressure held a length and one-half advantage before C. Smythes Skating Mad at the end of the five furlongs. G. M. Hendries Wise Maiden took third honors a half length back and clear before Barts Mayor. Under the impost of 106 pounds the Royal Minstrel colt raced the distance in the good time of 1:01%.
