i , I List Ten Certain and Six Probable Derby Starters Trainer Not Entirely Satisfied With Ky. Colonels Recent Trials CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville. Ky., May 2. — Ten top-ranking three-year-olds, representing eight ownership interests, today were listed as being "certain" starters in Saturdays Diamond Jubilee running of the 00,000 Kentucky Derby, with six others with a status as possibles. The 10 who have trained and raced to the expectations of their connections are: Olympia.. Ocean Drive. Capot, Wine List. Old Rockport. Halt, Johns Joy, Duplicator. Model Cadet and Palestinian. The "possibles" include Ky. Colonel, the Calumet team of De Luxe and Ponder, Jacks Town, Petey Cotter and Lextown. John M. Goode, trainer of Ky. Colonel, has expressed himself as not being entirely satisfied with the last two works of the J. A. Goodwin hopeful. De Luxe and Ponder, of course, probably will have their Derby status clarified by their showing tomorrow in the running of the Derby Trial, a mile dash from the elongated Churchill chute. Jacks Town is another who will find the Trial a decisive race insofar as a Derby try is concerned. Petey Cotter also has closen the Trial as a testing ground to determine if going to the post on Saturday will be worthwhile. Lextown will depend upon workouts to either prove or cast reflection upon his Derby classification.
