Van Berg to Keep 24-Head Here For Lincoln Fields Meeting SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 2. — M. H. VanBerg, owner and conditioner of the largest string of horses currently stabled at this track, announced-today he plans to have his colors represented by 24 horses at the Lincoln Fields-at-Washington Park meeting, scheduled to open May 16. The remaining members, numbering 10 head, are slated for racing at Ak-Sar-Ben race track, at Omaha, Neb. , C. A. Tanner has been assigned the duties of conditioning the unit destined for the Ak-Sar-Ben meeting, which opens May 24 for a run of 32 days. Among the band VanBerg will keep in action on the Chicagoland circuit will be Rose Bed, Henny Penny and Play Again, who should figure prominently in- some of the better races offered at the Homewood track.
