Simmons and Welsh# Hollywood Officials, to Witness Derby HOLLYWOOD, PARK, Ingleside, Calif., May 2. — Hollywood Park will have two very interested official representatives at the Kentucky Derby Saturday in President Thomas W. Simmons of the Hollywood Turf Club and J. Eward Welsh, assistant director of racing. Four of the leading Derby candidates — Olympia, Capot, Old Rockport, and Halt — have been nominated for the 0,000 Westerner, formerly known as the Hollywood Derby, on July 9, and the Hollywood Park representatives will naturally be interested in their performances. With Calumet Farm nominating Citation, Coaltown and Fervent for the 00,-000 Hollywood Gold Cup and with many other prominent eastern and southern stables naming horses for Hollywood Park stakes, Simmons and Welch are expected to be kept busy answering questions about the Hollywood Turf Clubs big 50-day racing program which will open May 17.
