Four Calumet Racers Among Eighty-One in Valley Forge CAMDEN, N. J., May 2. — Calumet Farm has nominated four of its brightest stars for the 1949 renewal of the 5,000 Valley Forge Handicap, which highlights the racing program at Garden State Park on Saturday, May 21. The quartet is headed by Coaltown and includes the great Armed, now hard on the comeback trail, the consistent Faultless and the capable Whirl Blast. Seventy-seven other middle-distance runners, many of them stars in their own right, have been named to contest this one-mile fixture. Thus, the Valley Forge has attracted 81 nominees, the largest number in its eight-year history.
