Maguire Waives to Pirates PITTSBURGH, Pa., May 28 UP. — General Manager Branch Rickey of Pittsburgh Pirates announced today that National League headquarters has awarded outfielder Jack Maguire to the Pirates on a waiver from the New York Giants. Rickey said Pittsburgh decided to release first-baseman Dale Long in order to keep their roster at the required 25 players. It was not disclosed where Long was to be sent. ■ 1 L !
