Podbelian, Montreal Pitcher, May Be Called Up by Dodgers MONTREAL, Que., May 28 UP.— Coach Clyde Sukeforth and scout John "Red" Corriden of the Dodgers headed home today after a week-end trip to review the Montreal Royals, Brooklyns farm team in the International League. Sukeforth, first assistant to Dodger manager Chuck Dressen, said he and Corriden were in town to look over right-hander Clary Podbelian, lanky ace of the Royals pitching staff who won his sixth game of the season yesterday. Manager of the Royals from 1940 to 1942, Sukeforth conferred with Montreal club officials after yesterdays doubleheader against Springfield, but declined to say whether Podbelian would be recalled by the Dodgers. The parent National League club was.knovij to be on the lookout for someone to bolster their pitching corps, however.
