Dade Parks Twenty-Eighth Annual Meet Opens August 4 CTWENSBORO, Ky., May 28.— The twenty-eighth race meet of the Dade Park Jockey Club will start Saturday, August 4, and run for 26 days through Lbor Day, September 3. These racing dates have been approved by the Kentucky State Racing Commission. James C. Ellis, president and general manager of Dade Park, and Lester E. Yeager, vice-president and associate manager, are looking forward to a successful meeting. They point to the fact that a number of the larger stables that have campaigned at Dade Park in recent years have applied for stall reservations again this summer. And again the early requests for stall space this year have been heavier than in the past. During the winter and early spring months Ellis- visited tracks in Florida and Arkansas and contacted a number of horsemen, who indicated they would be on hand when Dade Park opens its summer meeting. A number of stables have notified the local office they plan to ship their horses to Dade Park several weeks in advance of opening day to give their thoroughbreds a rest after months of winter and spring racing. Plans are being made to take care of these early arrivals and the racing strip will be in condition for workouts when trainers are ready to start conditioning their horses after the rest period.
