The latter came to the inside for the ultimate test and was wearing down the winner with every stride. LUCKY CODINE failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the late stages. The latter, slow to reach best stride, came to the inside for the drive, moved up boldly inside the final furlong, then appeared to hang during the final strides. COQUINET tired under punishment. FRENCH NAVY lacked a rally. BETHS BOMB was outrun. PERT quit. FLAGLER raced wide. BIMONT did not favor the going. BEAR-TRACKS was eased when hopelessly beaten.
