BUBBLE GUM saved ground while racing withing striking distance of the leader to the stretch, was sent between horses at the final turn and, responding to urging of CLAY PIGEON and won going away. CLAY PIGEON, a keen factor from the beginning, entered the stretch with a clear lead, continued willingly, but could not withstand the winner. PUSSY WILLOW raced evenly to the stretch and closed gamely, but was unable to threaten the leaders. ARABY QUEEN had early speed, bore out badly at the stretch turn and could not threaten when straight for the drive. KIBBITZ was outrun. JAPHAP raced wide. ZERO, for-wardly placed from the start, raced by EASY QUERO approaching the stretch, responded to a strong hand ride and won going away. PINE LAKE, in hand to the last three-eighths, closed fast under brisk urging, but could not get to the top one although easily best of the others. ATOKA LAD, on the outside throughout, failed to rally when set down through the, stretch. HIGH TEST was outrun. PARTRIDGE could not keep up and was in close quarters leaving the upper turn. EASY QUERO went to the front at once, made the pace for five-eighths mile, but gave way when challenged by ZERO. BANK BANDIT, away poorly, made a mild bid near the stretch, then tired badly.
