Increase Three Detroit Purses DETROIT, Mich., May 28.— President E. E. Dale Shaffer, of the Michigan Racing Association, today instructed racing secretary Charles -J. McLennan to increase the purses for three events programmed for decision tomorrow. The value of the seventh race was increased from ,500 to ,600, the fifth from ,700 to ,800, and the third was upped to ,600, jumps of 00 for each offering.
