LADY PICKFIELD, prominent from the start, took command when sent between horses inside the furlong marker, drifted out, interfering with VENTURESS while tiring during the late stages, but under urging drew clear. VENTURESS moved up boldly on the outside to reach the lead nearing the furlong marker, was carried out slightly by the winner during . the concluding strides, then faltered. LIABILITY faltered when called upon for his best effort. MADAM JEEP rallied too late to seriously threaten the leaders. ILL BE AROUND failed to attain the lead and tired. MELLOTUNE had no mishap. RESUME was always outrun. OCEAN SAND retired steadily from a rapid start The others never threatened. GENIES MATE, partial to the underf ooting, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating and continued on gamely thereafter when placed to pressure. JUNIOR WOLF, never far back, was unable to reach the leader when hard ridden through the stretch, but easily was best of the others. PEACEFUL GENIE raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. STAR PIGEON lacked a rally. BEST JUDGMENT was shuffled back on the far turn. CINDER KING lacked speed, as did PROMISSION. MY WASH was always between horses. BLACK CAT showed nothing. SMART EVE appeared to dislike the goino. ON WINGS flashed brief speed, then auit. BROWN raced DASHA into defeat to assume a slight advantage between calls during the stretch run, then weakened. UNCLE OTHO was unable to improve his position along the rail when called upon for his best effort. SULTANPEPPER saved ground to no avail. DASHA, much used early, had little left. SUZIES GIRL had no excuse. ALBULIL moved up boldly on the outside nearing the furlong pole, but tired. DICKIE SUE headed POINSETTE around the far turn and, saving ground thereafter, drew out gradually to win in handy fashion. DOUBLE BARREL worked his way up steadily under persistent riding and, while never threatening the winner, was going well at the end. POINSETTE broke quickly, but was not good enough in the going and was weakening at the end. VIRGINIA DUKE made up some ground. EL PAIR ME made a mild move nearing the stretch turn, 1 then faded. McLAUGHLIN, forwardly placed from the start, came between the leaders on the final turn to establish a clear lead, then in a long drive gamely held FUTURESQUE safe. The latter came out for the drive and, under punishment, was gradually getting to the winner. FRESH BREEZE, guided to the inside for the final test, was not good enough.
