Jordan has Phil D. at Ak-Sar-Ben and after starting him there in one or two of the top stakes at the Nebraska track plans shipping the fleet son of War Dog to Centennial with the ultimate goal being the 5,000 Colorado Mile which will be contested here Saturday, August 11. Another top stable that will race at Centennial is the twenty-horse outfit trained by Earl Beezley. The group races in the combined interests of Mrs. Hazel Beezley and "Bus" Petsch. The two "big" horses in the Beezely-trained contingent are Hairbow and Ill Be. The former was claimed by Beezley here last summer for ,000 and has been on the improve ever since. Hairbow scored six times last season, and in her first start in 1951 took down the top honors in the first division of the Inaugural Handicap at Omaha. Ill Be, also a six-time winner in 1950, is the holder of the present five-furlong track mark here at Centennial Park. Other consistent performers in the band include Torch Ginger and Pintail Sprig. Beezley is also bringing six two-year-olds as well as a pair of well Tegarded quarter horses, which will see action in the "short" races to be held at Centennial Park.
