Charles and Jersey Joe Sign For Third Championship Fight PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 7 UP.— Challenger Jersey Joe Walcott said he will be "ready" for Heavyweight Champion Ezzard Charles when they meet in a title bout here July 18. Walcott, who was an hour and a half late for the formal signing ceremonies, expressed the opinion that he would beat the champion in their third meeting. He said he was delayed while driving from his New Jersey home. "I just hope Ezzard starts to tear in and rip away," Walcott said," because Im ready for him." Walcott told reporters he was 37 years old but he laughed when he said it. Charles did not talk at the signing ceremonies but his co-managers, Jake Mintz and Tom Tannas, said the champion would begintraining at Cincinnati June 23, and taper off at Ligonier, Pa. Walcott was represented at the gathering by Felix Bocchicchio. Also present were James B. Norris of the International Boxing Club, and Pennsylvanias three boxing commissioners.
