Dressen Fined 00 by Frick For Refusing to Leave Bench NEW YORK, N. Y., June 7 UP.— President Ford Frick of the National League today fined manager Charles Dressen of the Brooklyn Dodgers 00 for refusing to leave the bench after being ejected from yesterdays game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Dressen was ejected in the fifth inning ~ by umpire Art Gore for protesting a balls- and-strikes decision: The Dodger pilot continued-to direct his team, however, from a stairway behind the Brooklyn dugout. When chased from there by Gore, Dressen then dressed in civilian clothes, seated himself in a box next to the Dodger dugout and piloted his team by signals. Manager Marty Marion of the Cardinals officially protested the game because of Dressens actions. Frick will act on the protest within a week. Brooklyn won the game, 3 to 2.
