FIREBRAKE, in hand while saving ground close to the pace, moved outside of the leader in the stretch, responded to urging and drew cfear. FIREWOOD rushed boldly on the outside to take a commanding lead after a quarter mile, came to the inside for the drive and shortened stride in the final sixteenth. SURPRISED was forward ly placed from the outset GIFT PACKAGE showed an even effort. MAGADA broke alertly, set the early pace, then wilted. PICT lacked early speed. OUTBIRD passed tiring horses. TANADOR was never prominent. GLORY LAR was undble to keep up. GAY GIFT showed nothing. ARABESS stopped. BERMAR JOE was outrun. WOLF WHISTLE raced close to the early pace, came through along the inside, lugged in badly, but was drawing out in the final sixteenth. FOSTERS PRIDE, in hand while kept close to the leaders, came through along the inside in the late stages but was unable to menace the leader. JUANA loomed as a threat on the extreme outside, passed the leader momentarily, then faltered. RABS SON rallied mildly in the final stages. RAMPAGEOUS had no mishap. BONNYVALE went evenly. ANNIES CHOICE broke alertly, set the early pace, shortened stride and was tiring when bothered slightly by the winner. PAPER MILL showed nothing. HIGH HUNCH showed nothing. The others were never prominent. Won easily; second and third driving; KHUMBABA, forwardly placed soon after • the start, was steadied on the turns, moved quickly between horses in the stretch and drew out easily. NIGHT AGAIN rushed alertly along the inside to take a slight lead nearing the quarter post, continued in command into the stretch, but was no match for the winner. YOULL LEARN closed resolutely along the inside. GLADE WELL improved position gradually along the inside in a aood effort. CHACMA raced wide on the final turn and was eliminated. BUSY CARRIER lacked early speed. RUNNING STITCH flashed speed for three furlongs, went, wide and tired. SIRPOP was carried wide and eliminated at the final turn. JAHI-showed nothing. BOLD BOLO, close up in the early running, moved into command after a half mile, widened the margin, but had to be hard ridden to hold advantage at the end. FLY AROUND, in hand while close to the pace, came around horses on the final turn, rallied under pressure and closed determinedly. JUDYS RUNNER was sent to the inside entering the stretch and closed with good energy. GREAT SHUFFLE made up ground with a late rush and may have been closer, but for lugging in badly. LONG GONE weakened after forcing the pace. AFTERWARDS flattened out badly. VITAL SUN went along with the early pace, assumed command after a half mile, then flattened out.
