Quill and Scroll Award Won by Young Bob Walter DETROIT, Mich.-, June 7. — Quill and Scroll, national honor society for high school journalists, recently awarded to Cranbrook senior, Bob Walter, son of Lew Walter, Michigan State Racing Commission steward, the organizations prize in the news article class. The Quill and. Scroll honor was in addition to young Walters six other awards in the Detroit News scholastic awards contest. Walter will graduate from Cranbrook. next Saturday and he will do summer work at Wayne University. At Cranbrook, he edited the yearbook, The Brook, and was associate editor on the school newspaper. The Crane. Along with his summer study, young Walter will work on the Detroit Free Press sports staff. _His father, Judge Walter, is on leave from the Detroit Times to handle his racing duties and John H.
