RANAHEAD responded readily when roused for the final test and closed with good courage. COMPARE faltered when called upon for her best effort. DELHANNAH rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. TECHNICOLOR swerved during the stretch run and pulled up slightly sore. INFINITY K. failed to stay. STAR PIGEON, forced to take up sharply immediately after the start, improved his position to the stretch, but under punishment was not good enough. QUICK CASH, much used early, had nothing left for the drive. SUZIES GIRL raced wide. CUDDLESOME lacked speed. HOOPS CHARM was through after a half mile. GARRETT C. was never formidable. EM gradually improved her position on the outside and finished with good energy to be best of the others. GEE-LIGHT raced evenly through the stretch without mishap. EPERC passed tiring horses. ROCKY SIR, unhurried when outrun early, disposed of ARCHIBALDO entering the stretch and, in a long drive, held ARNIE safe. The latter, slow to reach best stride after brushing the hedge on the first turn, came to the extreme outside for the drive and finished resolutely. FIRST TENET made up some ground when hard ridden through the late stages. MAE AGNES, -sent between horses for the drive, failed to make up appreciable yardage. ARCHIBALDO quit. EASY BUY had no mishap. OPENING DAY was unable to keep up. TRARAB gave way suddenly inside the stretch. Overweight— Mae Agnes, 2 pounds. Corrected weight— Trarab, 117. Arnte claimed by J. The latter raced BONRILLA into defeat to assume a slight lead entering the stretch, then held on gamely. BONRILLA reached the lead between calls nearing the furlong marker, then faltered when placed to punishment MISSAB lacked a convincing rally. LEO P. McL. had no apparent excuse. HEAVENLY HASH held sway until well inside the stretch before weakening. DOCILITY moved up boldly entering the stretch to reach near even terms with the winner, but under urging failed to stay. INKY RACER made up some ground during the stretch run. CHANCE.CLOUD quit PENSIVE LADY was never dangerous. HUMPHREY lacked speed. DRY RUN began sluggishly. SHINING DEED, much the best, .was forced to take up sharply when in close quarters nearing the sixteenth marker, regained stride gamely and after coming to the outside, gradually wore down FLATBUSH. The latter disposed of OTTER BROOK midway of the final furlong, but was unable to withstand the winner. OTTER BROOK held a slight advantage entering the stretch, but under punishment failed to stay. WITCH SIR faltered when set down for the ultimate test THE BLUE GOOSE raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. G. J. JOSIE failed to attain the lead and tired.
