DISICAL, never far back and saying ground, responded to strong handling during the stretch run and wore down LAZIEVEN in the last strides; LAZIEVEN, a keen factor from the beginning, reached the lead entering the stretch and held on gamely, but could not withstand the winner. IMBIBLE raced prominently to the stretch, but faltered during the drive. TEN GALLON HAT lacked early speed and raced wide during the last three-eighths. TABBY tired after showing early speed. WHACKER PRIDE began fast, but dropped far back immediately after the break. CORKY PAUL was never a serious factor. FIREMENOT was through early. , Overweight— Firemenot, 2 pounds. OFF AT 4:13 EASTERN STANDARD TIME Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third-driving. HOWDY U ALL was hustled to the front early, quickly established a good lead and held the advantage without urging. PRISSY MARY, away alertly | and never far back, closed gamely under ucging, but could not get to the top one. NOBLE IDEA could not reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. BROWN SCOUT tired after showing early speed. BILLS ! DIAMOND was outrun. FLEURE NOIR began sluggishly and raced greenly. MISS LARKSPUR began fast, gave way to HOWDY U ALL before going a fdrlong, then bore out badly for the rest of the trip and lost all chance. EAST HILL, FRACTIOUS AT THE POST, UNSEATED HER RIDER AND RAN INTO THE STABLE AREA, WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN AND ALL WAGERS ON HER WERE REFUNDED. Scratched— 305183 East Hill, 108. CRACK REWARD went to the front early, raced LEAPING MOOSE into defeat before reaching the stretch, then drew clear under mild urging. REBATE, away sluggishly and lacking early speed, was sent around horses for the drive and finished fast, but could not menace the winner. JAPHAP was unable- to better his position when set down through the stretch. MEYERSDALE raced prominently from the beginning, but failed to rally when hard urged during the drive. DUSTLIGHT was outrun. KIBBITZ could not keep up. LEAPING MOOSE began fast, engaged CRACK REWARD to the stretch, then gave way. , Scratched— 27597 Repand, 109. Overweight— Kibbitz, 1 pound. BYRONIC, alertly handled, assumed command at once, established a good lead entering the stretch and drew clear under a steady hand ride. LUCKY MICKY, outrun early, was forced wide at the stretch turn by BRIGHT STEEL, came fast when clear, but could not seriously threaten the winner. STROLLING MOON, a sharp factor from the start and saving ground throughout, faltered after racing Jiearest BYRONIC to the final, furlong. PUSSY -WILLOW tired during the last eighth mile. BRIGHT STEEL had early speed, then drifted out while tiring during the last three furlongs. CHILDERIC began sluggishly and .was never prominent. BON LYNN saved ground while outrun to the. stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, closing fast under punishment, disposed of GAY LIBERTY in the last strides. GAY LIBERTY went to the front early, held a clear lead entering the stretch and finished willingly, but could not hold the winner. MYRMIDON lacked early speed, was in close quarters during the last sixteenth and could hot better his position. TRIOGRAPH held on well in a sharp effort and had no mishap. RINGADOR could not keep up after showing early speed. PIP PIP broke fast, but tired after racing well to the stretch. BOLD ARROW was never dangerous. Scratched— 23973 Double Gift, 105.
