Jackson Features Marathon Racing on Final Two Nights JACKSON RACEWAY, Jackson, Mich., June 7. — With night harness racing closing here Saturday, racing secretary Don H. Roberts has programmed two "marathon" events for the closing nights. The Jackson Marathon Trot- at a mile-and-a-half is scheduled for Friday night with a field of eight entered. They are Bayard Hanover, Johnnie M., Harold Song, May Ring, Bifty Lu, Poison I. V., Duke Volo, Carolyn Brainerd and Ronald Scott. For closing night, Saturday, The Governors Marathon Pace at a mile-and-a-half has been carded, and .Hon. G. Men-nen Williams, Governor of Michigan, is expected to be on hand to present a blanket to the winner. The Jackson Raceway mutual handle is running at an accelerated pace as closing night approaches, and wagering totals, which were up 63 per cent over last years figures gomg into the final week, are expected to approach the 75 per cent mark when "Auld Lang Syne" is played Saturday night; -~ * » J- k *-
