Greek, Ship, who recently went unplaced in the Suburban in New York, earned more than 40,000 last season and listed among his successes victories in the Empire City Gold Cup, the Metropolitan and the Louisiana Derby. He is still in New York, but it is understood that the Brookmeade Stable will ship him west for the 00,000 special. Moonrush has scored four major triumphs this year. At Santa Anita last winter he captured the San Pasqual and the Santa Anita Handicap, and this spring at Bay Meadows he accounted for the Bay Meadows Handicap. In his one and only start this season at Hollywood Park, the son of Hunters Moon IV. galloped off with the Golden State Breeders Handicap under 130 pounds. Weighted closest to Moonrush and Greek * Ship is A. J. Crevolins Be Fleet, last winter, hero of the San Juan Capistrano Handicap and just recently star of the Argonaut Handicap. He drew 122 pounds. Just under Be Fleet with 120 pounds each are two of the four Calumet Farm nominees, Citation and Coaltown. The other two Calumet nominees are All Blue with 111 pounds and Bewitch with 108. A victory for Citation would land him well above his objective of ,000,000 in earnings before his permanent retirement. The Yolo Stables Maturity winner, Great Circle, a recent arrival from New York, drew 118 pounds, one more than was assigned to T. P. Morgans Lotowhite.
