C, June 10.— President Truman asked Congress today for a temporary steel seizure law under which the government would give "fair" profits to the industry and increased wages to the workers. MacArthur to Be Keynote Speaker Gen. Douglas MacArthur, supporting Sen. Robert A. Taft for the Republican presidential nomination, yesterday was named the keynote speaker for the GOP National Convention which opens here July 7. Paratroops Clear Out Compound 76 KOJE ISLAND, Korea, June 10. — American paratroops today cleaned out compound 76, resistance center for 6,400 fanatical Communist war prisoners, in a wild, three -hour battle. The American troops fought with bayonets, flame-throwers, con- ; cussion bombs, tear gas and bare fists; the Reds with home-made spears, knives and bludgeons. Though not a shot was fired, I the casualty toll was one American and 31 Communists killed, 14 Americans and 139 Communists wounded. Dodd, Colson Defend Actions WASHINGTON, D. C, June 10.— Cols. Francis T. Dodd and Charles P. Colson, reduced from rank of Brigadier General for their part in the Koje prison fiasco, today defended their actions as "fully justified." Should Strike Back: General Clark TOKYO, Japan, June 10. — Gen. Mark W. Clark said today that if the Communists unleash their 2,000-plane air force in a new offensive, the United Nations should strike back "with no holds barred." Hails Approval of Foreign Aid Bill WASHINGTON, D. C, June 10.— Chairman Tom Connally of the Senate Foreign I Relations Committee today hailed the Senates approval of the Foreign Aid bill as "a great vote and a great day for the free nations of the earth." New Low in Red Casualties SEOUL, Korea, June 10. — Communist casualties for the first week ir June were the lowest since mid-February, the Eighth Army reported today. Russia Rejects Armed Forces Proposal UNITED NATIONS, N. Y., June 10.— Russia rejected today a Western proposal to limit the armed forces of the United States, the Soviet Union and China to 1,500,000 men while putting a ceiling of 800,000 on those of Britain and France.
