Power Shortage at Belmont BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y.. June 10. — Yesterdays storm caused some interruption to electrical facilities at Belmont Park today, a tree having been blown across a feeder line from Plainfield Avenue. The Long Island Power and Light Co. was unable to send a repair crew before 1:15 p. m., something like 90 per cent of the power on Long Island having been affected by the storm. Among the facilities affected by the power shortage were the photo-finish cameras on the main course, the elevator to the stewards stand and the lights in the grandstand and clubhouse. The pari-mutuel machines continued to function on an auxiliary dynamo. All of the stewards, except Francis P. Dunne, operated from a vantage point in the clubhouse. Dunne was delegated to climb to the roof. Power was restored at 2:45 d. m.
