Former Wolverine Gridder Signs With Detroit Lions DETROIT, Mich., June 10 UP.— The Detroit Lions today announced the signing of end Harry Allis of the University of Michigan, a 1951 draft choice of the Lions. Allis, 24, was a member of Wolverine teams that won the Big Ten football championships in 1948, 1949 and 1950. He also played on the winning Michigan team in the Rose Bowl, Jenuary 1, 1951. The 210-pound, six-footer, turned down a Lions offer a year ago to remain at Michigan for post graduate work in pharmacy. He is a native of Flint, Mich.
