Nine-Horse Field In Omaha Feature Bolingcall, Butch K.f Dad Meet Again in Kings Plate Handicap at Mile, 70 Yards By J. SWEENEY GRANT Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 10.— Nine of the better performers currently, quartered at this Omaha course have been named to match strides in tomorrows renewal of the ,000 Ak-Sar-Ben Kings Plate Handicap. The Monaghan Stables, Bolingcall, winner of the recent Man o War Handicap, has been asked to shoulder top weight of 114 pounds in the mile and 70 yards essay. The Monaghan racer is asked to concede one pound to both Guy and Walter Shult Butch K. and William S. Clines Dad, who will answer the bugle under 113 -pound assessments. Comprising the remainder of the group are Marion H. VanBergs French Admiral, 110; Rorick and Lanes Dr. Tulip, 108; Loveland Stables First Blue, 107; John H. Nail, Jr.s Panade and J. W. Coopers Undone, 105; and Mr. and Mrs. Irving Handelmans Bonnie Hill, 103. Following two disappointing engagements, Bolingcall finally found his best stride in the Man o War Handicap and defeated several of his rivals in tomorrows event. Previous to his victory, Bolingcall contested the same rivals in the Memorial I Handicap, in which the five-year-old was shut off repeatedly. His race in the Man o War was much improved and, as a result, his mount was along in time to post a nose decision over Mrs. Paul Weyermans Caucus. Taylor Powell most likely will be astride Bollingcall again. Butch K. accounted for two of the local handicaps before bowing to Bolingcall and Caucus in his last trip postward. Butch K. was the victim of poor racing luck in the Man o* War and an improved effort tomorrow is expected. Prior to his defeat, Butch K. scored smashing successes in the Memorial and Council Handicaps. Roily Poulter will have the mount. Beat Good Field in Black Gold Dad qualified for his start in the Kings Plate by besting a clever field of routers in the Black Gold Purse. Included among his victims in that issue was French Admiral whom he defeated by two and three-quarters lengths. Previously Dad was unsuccessful in quest for one of the more lucrative handicaps presented thus far during ! the meeting. French Admiral recently arrived from Chicago, where he was acquired by VanBerg from Bernard W. Landy. French Admiral was defeated by ,500 platers in his last start in the Windy City, but found Dad master in his first start here. Dad will be ridden by Johnny Brooks. Hank Manifold will guide French Admiral. Dr. Tulip came forth with his best effort of the meeting when he finished third to Bolingcall and Caucus. Before that he disappointed his numerous backers in a mediocre allowance race in which he was beaten decisively by the plater Trarab. Dr. Tulip had no apparent excuse in his defeat by Bolingcall and it appears doutful that he will be able to reverse the decision. Undone, a superior mudder, has had little luck in his more recent outings. Over an "off" strip the Cooper racer would have to be considered a dangerous rival. Any other than a fast strip is unlikely to prevail tomorrow and as a result Undone merits but slight consideration. First Blue has shown but a minimum of ability before the local patrons. He was bested some nine and three-quarter lengths by Bolingcall in their last meeting. Bonnie Hill placed third to ,000 opponents in her last start and she most likely will be among the "also-rans" in tomorrows essay. Panade has been unimpressive in two Omaha outings.
