OFF AT 3:49 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. - Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. SPEED 0 LIGHT, steadily worked way forward after the start, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, after disposing of the leaders, held GOLDEN PELT safe. GOLDEN PELT, rank at the post, raced evenly to the stretch, finished willingly under urging, but could not overtake the winner, although much the best of the others. CASTOR OIL, on the outside throughout, could not threaten the top ones when set down through the stretch. SILENCE raced prominently to the last eighth, then weakened. SOME BOSS gave a fair effort and had no mishap. HARPETH, away sluggishly, was hustled to reach serious contention after the start, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, then tired. DUCHESS HELEN failed to stay after engaging HARPETH for a half mile. SERIOSOLO began slowly. MISS CROMA tired. TARTAN LASS was through early. GAY INTRIGUE, never far back, responded to punishment during the stretch run and, after wearing down NANCY BAYNE, held DISICAL MISS safe. The latter, forwardly placed from the start, finished strongly under urging, but could not overtake the winner. NANCY BAYNE went to the front at the start, made the pace to the last eighth, then faltered when challenged by GAY INTRIGUE. SAVOIA lacked early speed, but finished fast. SLIPPY beqan slowly. RAMJET raced areenly. MISS LAWDY failed to stay after showing early speed. PINS N NEEDLES was outrun. SPOTITRIG showed nothing. SALLYS DISH was never a serious contender. LANDMARK GAL, well handled, steadily worked way forward to the stretch, assumed command during the drive and lasted to hold DEPAL. The latter never far back, closed determinedly under urging, but could not overtake the top one. .PHARAPOISE raced evenly in a sharp effort. CHIC WAVE raced prominently from the start and, caught in close quarters in the stretch run, tired during the last sixteenth. RENA POP went to the front early, made the pace for a half mile while engaging CHIC WAVE, but had nothing left for the drive. LOCK DOWN lacked early speed. GAY N" FRISKY was outrun. SHAKERAG began fast, but dropped back immediately after the start. DONDE ES, rank at the post, unseated rider and galloped off a slow quarter, then showed nothing in the running. CLEARBROOK was never dangerous. SON AL had early speed, but gave way during the stretch run and was eased after being hopelessly beaten. BLUE SICKLE saved ground while outrun to the upper turn, moved up readily when set down for the drive and, after racing by the leaders, won going away. H00S ABBE gave a good effort and had no misrlap. PENNWOVEN went to the front nearing the stretch, but tired during the drive. LILAC, bothered at the first turn by FREDERIKA W., failed to rally when set down through the stretch. ZEBINA was never dangerous. FREDERIKA W. crossed sharply to the inner rail after the break, bothered LILAC, then gave way after displaying early speed, appearing unfit for her engagement. Scratched— 59417 Nipping, 109. TIS JOE, never far back and saving ground, finished willingly under punishment but could not seriously threaten the winner. DIXVILLE had early speed but faltered when challenged by SHAG TAILS. ROUND N ROUND gave a fair effort and had no mishap. QUICK TULIP began alertly but dropped out of serious contention soon after the start. BUSY FOX was never prominent. PAK was outrun.
