Crosby, Hope to Make Plea For Olympic Funds on TV By the United Press Film Stars Bing Crosby and Bob Hope will team up on June 21 and 22 for a 14*4-hour coast-to-coast telecast to help raise funds for the U.S. Olympic Team, the U.S. Olympic Committee announced in Chicago yesterday. The telethon, to be aired over the National Broadcasting Co., network, will mark Crosbys first appearance on television. The program will originate from Hollywood, Calif. The Olympic committee is engaged in a drive to reach a quota of 50,000 needed to finance the U. S. teams trip to the games at Helsinki, Finland. The U.S. expects to send 22 teams to participate in 17 sports.
