MUCHO MANANA moved up on the inside nearing the stretch turn and, saving ground in. the stretch, got to the front after entering the last sixteenth to win under pressure. PENNILESS raced close up and took command when JOHNY BANANAS bore out but was unable to resist the winner, although going well to the end. LIKE A BREEZE raced up around the stretch turn and was a contender thereafter. SHINING DEED lacked early speed and, although finishing well was not dangerous. ROMAN ROAD weakened. RIPPLING HIT failed to be a factor. JOHNY BANANAS was leading when he bolted to the outside on the stretch turn, lost all chance and pulled up lame. FINE FETTLE trailed for over half the distance but came strongly in the middle of the track when called upon to easily catch the early leaders and win going away PARKVIEW moved up after entering the stretch to find an opening in the last eighth and qo well thereafter M0NTAYR, closest to NOT THE END, took over when the latter tired, but had little left at the finish PLAY EDA finished steadily. GALLANT D. tired. RUSTY BROWN was never a serious contender NOT THE END quit badly in the stretch. SPECIFIC WAS INJURED IN THE GATE PREVIOUS TO THE START AND WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN BY THE VETERINARIAN. ALL MONEY WAGERED ON HIM WAS REFUNDED. Scratched— 59211 Specific, 120. BEST MAID headed MY FAITH after going a short distance and, withstanding a challenge from SPIRIT AWAY on the stretch turn, drew out under mild pressure in the last eichth. SPIRIT AWAY, while not quite good enough for the winner, turned in a good race to hold BURMA GIRL. The latter was wide in the stretch, but finished with good courage. ASHES lacked early speed and, while making up some ground in the late stages, failed to threaten. BIG EYED was never a serious factor. CATBERN was unabe to keep up. PINES OF ROME was under restraint while racing several lengths back of the field down the backstretch, then moved up nearing the stretch turn to find an opening and coming to the outside of the leaders in the last furlong, wore them down to win going away. TOOMAI was outrun by AVE until straightened out in the stretch, then moved steadily to challenge the latter, but was unable to hold the winner. INSEPARABLE was rushed to the front rounding the first turn and then set the pace under slight restraint until challenged by ABBE STING in the stretch. He responded gamely to urging when the threat loomed and continued to show the way to the end. ABBE STING rushed up on the outside nearing the stretch turn and made a good bid on the outside of INSEPARABLE at the eighth pole, but was unable to get to the front. CHALLCOTE, taken back early, moved when ready, but was not good enough. JAC0B0Y was going steadily at the finish. BLACK GEORGE ran a good six furlongs before tiring. BASHFUL SUN was always a good contender while saving ground, and taking command when ASPHALT began to tire in the stretch, drew away under hand riding. KANZA, outrun early, moved fast on the inside nearing the stretch turn and, although in rather close quarters after entering the stretch, found an opening near the end to finish fast. TATTENHAM was closest to ASPHALT in the first part, but weakened near the end. FAIR APPRAISAL was going well at the end. MY DIVIDEND failed to be a factor. ASPHALT tired badly in the stretch. ROYAL CHALLA was sent to the front soon after the start and, well rated while making the pace, was never in danger of being headed and drew out in the stretch. VENTOLINO made a good move on the outside around the stretch turn and disposed of NUGGET GOLD in the final drive. NUGGET GOLD weakened in the last furlong. UNCLE EMERY finished fairly well.
