June 10. — Colby White, rounding into form under the guidance of trainer-driver Harry Livingston, will go after his first victory of 1952 tomorrow night in the feature trot at Maywood Park. Owners Jack Cameron and Phil Starck of Chicago sent Colby White into winter training at Elkhorn, Wis., after the five-year-old Colby Hanover gelding compiled brilliant 1951 record of 15 wins in 25 starts. He showed early speed in last weeks 2,000 Maywood Trotting derby, but finished out of the money. Colby White will join a field of seven in the eighth race, at one mile. Opposing hL.i will be Wayville, Kinny Wyn, Billy Corbitt. Gertie Gallon, Signal F., and Lew Hanover. Wayville, owned _by John H. Doesburg of Chicago, will open as a slight favorite in the balanced field. The five-year-old Vola-tion gelding will start from the pole position, and will be driven by Tom Beasley. Kinny Wyn, which earned a victory and two seconds in his first three starts of the year, will be driven by owner Joyce Bur-right Hankins of Oregon, 111. Joyce is the daughter of harness racings "grand old lady," Grandma Burright. Dee Stover, leading driver at the meeting, will pilot Lew Hanover in quest of his third victory in six appearances. Owned by Arleigh Wilkins of Marion, 111., Lew Hanover won two races in a row before bowing his last time out. Gertie Gallon, entered by Paul S. Dougherty of LaGrange, will go after her second straight triumph with youthful Wilbur Beattie driving. A field of eight two-year-olds, including four eligibles for the ,000 Northern Illinois Colt pace June 18, will go a mile in the second race on the nine-race program. Mrs. Virginia Hensons Winding Brook is favored to capture the nightly event for Illinois-owned or -bred horses. Winding Brook will face a field of six pacers that includes Court Lawful, Ace Deuce, Helens Chief, Flower Grattan, Jerry Mason, and Ima Hanover Dale, in a B class pace at one mile.
