Arcourt Appears Class Of Fort Miami Offering Toledo-Owned Racer Meets Nine! ? In Event on Semi-Final Card By R. E. HURLEY Staff Correspondent FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 14. — Toledoans Bob and Ken Close who have | dominated the current meeting with their hard-hitting string of horses, send their Arcount against a field of nine at one mile in the Lucas County Purse, which tops the semi-final card of the 25 -day spring meeting at this track. For Miami I is located in Lucas County, Ohio, and is operating on the Fair Grounds of the county under a five-year-lease. Trainer H. J. Pitt has done a fine job of conditioning and spotting his charges during the meeting and has Arcourt into a good spot in the mile test. The gelded son of Supremus — Ann OSullivan has a touch of class in his pedigree and should not be troubled by Wessleton, Just-Made-It. Hy-blaze, Just Albert, Timboo, Unabridged, 1 Dawn Can and Ski Slope who round out the field. . • Just Albert is a two time winner at the current meet and Unabridged a clever winner of his last outing but both were successful at shorter distances. At the flat mile Arcourt, with little Gene Martin, his regular rider at the helm, should be along in plenty of time to reign as the Lucas 3 County champion until the fall.
