LADYBREATH was lightly steadied while closely pressing LOVELY WAVE, and drew clear from that one when roused in the stretch drive. LOVELY WAVE held a narrow margin into the stretch and held on gamely to best LADY SAILOR. The latter was reserved behind the first flight, swung to the outside entering the stretch and closed with good late speed. POINT 0 VIEW loomed a threat under punishment on the stretch turn and slightly weakened. JUNE FETE saved ground and raced well. SURPRISE STORY was outrun. SECOND RACE 6 FURLONGS out of chute. CHANCE SNOW gradually improved position after settling in stride and finished gamely. BE FLYING set the pace to the final turn and faltered. FOXALONIA could not keep up. THEODORE B. was not a factor. HEIRLOOM, reserved for a half-mile, rallied steadily from the outside in the drive and, despite intimidation from the whip of the rider on SAMSON D approaching the last sixteenth, won going away. BURNHAM WOOD was briskly ridden to take advantage of an opening between horses and raced to the pace at the half-mile, disposed of SAMSON D when punished in the final stages, but could not resist the winner. SAMSON D raced on the outside challenging BURNHAM WOOD and slightly weakened under punishment. SAMPAN rallied mildly in the stretch. FROLIC was outrun. NOSTREBOR quit. BARBECK, forced back slightly on the first turn, was steadied in a prominent position racing on the outside and finished well to best LETDOWN. The latter reached the front when punished for the drive but weakened. TYRUS was closing well, but lacked room in the final stages. WILL TO WIN faltered. BIG FIB was outrun.
