BLACK BANTAM, partial to the sloppy track, gradually improved position to the stretch, responded willingly when hard urged during the drive and wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth mile. CLICK-CLICK, a keen factor from the start, raced with EXPLOITATION to the final furlong, reached the lead between calls, but was unable to hold the top one, although easily best of the others. MAIL FROM HOME passed tired horses during the stretch run. GRANITE FLYN tired during the final furlong. LONOKE FLASH, on the outside from the beginning, was forced extremely wide at the stretch turn and could not threaten the leaders when straightened for the drive: EXPLOITATION went to the front early, set the pace to the last eighth while engaging CLICK-CLICK, then gave way. HELWAN could not handle the sloppy track. Scratched— 77368 Steak Bone, 114; 85117 Curtain Raiser, 109; 856654 Amafox, 111. Overweight— Click-Click, 2 pounds. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. The latter raced nearest TASK after the start, moved to the latter during the stretch run but hung when near the finish and could net overtake the winner, although easily best of the others.
