PONDER PAT went to the front at once, and showing good speed had enough left to hold OPAL BLOSSOM in the drive. OPAL BLOSSOM got through on the inside of the leader but was unable to get up, although finishing well. BELCON made up ground and was racing well at the end. MR. M. collided with BURG LADY soon after the start and raced wide thereafter. MIRA SADOR tired. HAPPY AGE lacked early speed and met with some interference. BURG LADY was racing on the inside nearing the far turn when she ran up on the heels of MIRA SADOR and fell, and ROSILY and PRETTY KITTY fell over her, while ORCHESTRAL went to her knees and lost her rider. LEASE HOUND was closest to SLUMBERLAND while the latter was making the pace and, although weakening near the end, had enough left to hold LIGHTED CANDLE. LIGHTED CANDLE was never too far from the pace and, finishing with good courage, was gaining. ROYCE closed ground gradually and was pressing the first two. MISS MONTSIN was well placed early and went steadily to the end, but failed to seriously threaten for the leadership. SLUMBERLAND tired. BLUE AGENT made up ground. Scratched— 85999 Junior Wolf, 112. MISS TAGGS moved up slightly nearing the stretch turn but was no match for the winner, although clearly the best of the others. AGITATE had no trouble disposing of the rest in the stretch. POLTROON was never far from the pace and finished steadily on outside of the winner. LADOLEE moved up in the stretch and was going well at the end. LOCARNO also shed with good courage. OUR FOLLY was rated back of DGEBILL until the latter showed signs of weakness, then went to the front and, shaken up while saving ground the stretch, had enough left to hold MANCHAC. The latter moved strongly after leaving the backstretch and ; gaining slowly at the end. RIOT came steadily in the final guarter. XALAPA PRIDE tired in the stretch. ALTRUISTIC was permitted to take it iurely in the early running and moving up strongly on the outside after going five furlongs, took command the stretch to draw out near the end. McCREIGHT headed GINNAS WAR after going a guarter and drew o a good lead, then held on courageously to best STARBOROUGH. The latter found an opening on the inside the backstretch to move up, came to the outside in the stretch but had little left at the end. BOBS ACE sed some ground while racing wide.
