Northern Gleam in Narrow Irish 1,000 Guineas Score THE CURRAGH, County Kildare, Eire, May 14 Reuters. — Lady Burys Northern Gleam, ridden by T. Burns, scored a narrow victory in the Irish 1,000 Guineas over one mile here today. In a thrilling finish, the filly won by a neck from N. S. Mac-Naughtons Beau Co Co with President of Eire, Sean T. OKeellys Badri an Oir another further two lengths behind and third to finish. Among the field of 15 was the French challenger, Marcel Boussacs Salka. Northern Gleam, by Borealis out of Flight of the Heron, started at 5 to 2 and she is trained by Darby Rogers. Beau Co Co, ridden by T. P. Burns, was an 100-to-6 outsider and Banri an Oir had J. Power up and was the favorite at 1 1 to 8.
