OFF AT 1:16* EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. U. S. KNIGHT gradually improved his position to gain command inside the furlong marker and gamely withstood BARSARD. The latter came out for the drive and, under brisk urging, was getting to the winner. NATHANIEL raced BRIGHT-N-PROUD into defeat to hold a clear lead when set down for the drive, but faltered when punished. JUDYS RUNNER rallied too late to become an endangering factor. BRIGHT-N-PROUD, much used early, had little left. ECUADOR failed to attain the lead and tired. STORM AT SEA had a rough trip. MARA MOO quit. BLACK BID began sluggishly. MAYES RILEY never threatened. The latter showed good speed from the start and held on willingly in a good effort. JINGLER gave way suddenh/ inside the furlong marker. IMPERIAL LAMAR quit. RAFFY began sluggishly. WILLIAMSBURG moved up menacingly for the straightaway test after having been poorly rated early, but lacked the necessary rally. RYTHMINHIM failed to respond when called upon for his best effort. QUITE HAPPY made up some ground during the late stages in a sharp effort SINGING GIRL moved up menacingly at the furlong marker, but weakened when punished. SPEEDY JEEP tired.
