High Head, With Ted Johnson Up, Annexes Harvard Square SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass,, June 19. — High. Head, a speedy Florida-bred son of Grins — Wild Betty, turned in his usual consistent race and earned top money in the ,000 Harvard. Square Purse here today for owner-trainer Irving J. White. The five-year-old gelding received a well timed ride from jockey Ted Johnson to finish the six furlongs three parts ot a length in front of Melpet Stables Noch Eins. A length and a half back of the runner-up, H. W. Hayners. Old Sol took the minor award with daylight to spare over the favored TJ. S. Navy, from the barn of Mrs. Sam Orr. Completing the six furlongs in 1:11, High Head was scoring his fourth victory of the 1953 campaign. The victory must have been sweet to White, who had a purse taken away when his Fred G. swerved badly in the mile and a sixteenth fifth race and, after winning, had to be placed second to J. Biundos Dictionless. Those who wagered on High Head received an 1,000 pay-ff.
