GAY DRUMMER quickly opened a clear lead, was briskly handled to withstand the challenge from BIRMOODA and won going away. BIRMOODA raced in closest pursuit of the winner, loomed boldly on the stretch turn, but weakened in the last furlong. BELLE PHAR was forced back at the start, then raced well to gain her position, but was no threat to the top pair. YANKEE BEAU raced between horses and was not a menace. ORNUM raced forwardly placed on the inside after a slow start, steadily made up distance and finished gamely. HI GAIL was an alert factor, but could not stay with the winner and faltered. VICI ADMIRAL lacked her usual alacrity at the start, was rushed forward down the backstretch and weakened. MARACABO was not a threat. SMILEY was taken in hand on the turn. LITTLE FALLS, racing behind the first flight, rallied gradually m in the last quarter mile and outfinished PLAY TOY. The latter raced in the clear behind the top pair, then could not get up when punished for the drive. THASIAN HERO saved ground on the first turn to-reach the front, shook off BOBS ALIBI on the final turn and then easily drew away. BOBS ALIBI was intermittently urged vying for the pace, and gained a short lead at the far turn, but faltered in the drive. IGNITE was taken in hand racing behind horses on the first turn, and quickly moved into a forward position entering the backstretch, but lacked a rally in the drive. ISWAS outbroke the field, but could not keep up early and rallied only mildly. HERACLITO was outrun. TIP II. was rushing forwardly when blocked at the first turn, and again had to be taken in hand down the backstretch and, going into uneven stride, tired. PENSAVA quit. MY TRULY FAIR crossed over to the rail racing to the front on the first turn, set an even pace and held on well when displaced. EQUAL STRIFE, in hand while outdistanced early, rapidly made up ground after a half mile, but hung in the stretch run. PLUMED was outrun. BUCK N GEE quit. ABBEZAC could not untrack himself. ZENAS ZEPHYR saved ground and finished well to be easily best of the others. TUNESMITH was blocked on the stretch turn, then finished well when clear to gain his placing. RUXTON came from well back. FOUR NOTRUMP was not a factor and could not be ridden out the last eighth when the right stirrup was broken by BULL. BLUE MIRAGE and REPUDIATE vied for the early lead and quit BULL was taken up sharply when savaged by FOUR NOTRUMP in the last furlong. EVAS TOY was shuffled back early.
