Leonard Leonard Richards Richards Choice Choice After First Stake Score at Delaware Magic Lamp, Maabrook and Landlocked Will Try Fast And Game Spring Hill Colt By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 19.— Spring Hill Farms Jamie K. and jockey Eddie Arcaro, a combination which found Native Dancer more than they could handle in the Preakness and Belmont, shape up as a powerful tandem tomorrow afternoon in the sixteenth running of the 0,000 added Leonard Richards Stakes. This top three-year-old event of the 32-day Delaware Park session will be contested over the mile and one furlong distance and, if the overnight field of seven remains intact, will gross 3,965, with the owner of the winner taking down a record net return 2,980. Opposing Jamie K., who is in quest of his initial stakes triumph of the year, will be the following: Rokeby Stables Magic Lamp; Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Maabrook; James Cox Bradys Landlocked; King Ranchs Gran -Chaco; Hal Price Headleys Regal Manner and Charles F Wisecarvers Isle of Bond. Landlocked operates under a 119-pound burden, while all others carry five pounds less. Earnings of 4,475 This Season Despite his impressive record, which has netted owner James Norris 4,475 this season, Jamie K. has never won a stakes offering, having been disqualified in last years Remsen after finishing on the front end. Arcaro will be seeking his first Delaware Stakes since winning the Oaks with Gallorette in 1945. Jamie K.s two victories this year were in allowance, events, while he was beaten but a neck by Native Dancer in both the Preakness and the Bel- • mont, failing to catch the sophomore champion in the first named, then being overhauled by the gray colt in the mile and a half Belmont. Magic Lamp is likely to be the second choice with the public, having won three races and finished second twice in his six-race campaign this year. The Alibhai--Milcave colt has-twice won locally, being timed in 1:47 for a mile and a sixteenth last time out over a slow track, while scoring by two and a half lengths. What really gained him his starting role, however, was a subsequent one mile trial in 1:39and, the final quarter of which was on the speedy side. Ronnie Nash receives the saddle assignment. Landlocked, although soundly beaten by Greentrees Powhatan in his last start, was the victor over Scimitar in New York in his previous outing. Scimitar came back to take a decision from Invigorator in last weeks Kent Stakes. Landlocked, a son of Priam TX, will be ridden by Glen Lasswell, who won last Saturdays Kent with Scimitar, then journeyed to New England to account for the Yankee Handicap with Better Goods. Gran Chaco was a galloping six-length winner over maidens last time out, while Regal Manner won just as impressively earlier in the meeting, only to be soundly beaten by Magic Lamp over a slow track, which probably was against him. Isle of Bond is the outsider in the field, but showed" improvement in the last to be two lengths behind Mohammedan while sprinting.
