FIVE STAR raced close to IXU the pace on the outside, assumed command under pressure and. outfinished BRIGHT KITCHEN. The latter was rushed along the inside to gain command early, remained close up after giving way, regained the lead in the stretch, but was not good enough. MONEY CALL, rushed boldly on the far turn to gain command, weakened but held on gamely. HIGH JACKIE, close up and saving ground, was forced to take to the outside in the stretch and was unable to make up lost ground. CASUAL CHANCE weakened after forcing the pace. MAJON JR. went evenly. BRIGHT GUY flashed speed for a quarter mile. TIDEHEAD moved within striking distance of the leaders after three furlongs, remained in hand until straightened for the drive, responded to steady urging and outfinished GAME LADY. The latter moved readily when set up on the outside near the far turn, drew clear to dominate the running into the stretch and held "on stubbornly. GAYforced the pace along the inside and held her position until the final sixteenth. SUN BUD showed an even effort. LUNATION, sluggish in the early stages, was unable to menace when put to pressure. TWO FEATHERS had no mishap. MA. RICHER flashed brief speed and quit. TROY ROAD wheeled to the inside and was taken up quickly. The others were outrun. FRED G., forwardly placed under f steadying restraint to the final quarter mile, responded when put to pressure, assumed command and swerved 1 sharply to the outside, was taken back and when rider lost control he ducked sharply to the inside, finally straightening out and was drawing out at the end. He was disqualified and placed second. DICTIONLESS rushed from off the pace to challenge the leader, was bothered slightly as the leader swerved, but continued on and just missed. BRAVE LASS forced the pace, assuming command after a half mile, saved ground, gave way and was weakning at the end. ANAMIA moved readily to near the pace, was on the extreme outside when the leader swerved and changed course slightly. FIRST SWING flattened out after nearing the pace. FLORIDA BELLE, unable to keep up, rallied mildly in the late stages. CHARM PRINCE showed nothing. - ALPHARA was never prominent IRVINGTON, outrun early, appeared to bear in on the final turn and was unable to menace. , SIR WALTER R. stopped. HIGH HEAD, close behind the leader under stout restraint to the final quarter mile, moved readily when set down, assumed command, drew clear and withstood the rairy of NOCH EINS. The latter closed with good energy from slightly off the pace. OLD SOL forwardly placed along the inside, rallied under pressure but was not good enough. U. S. NAVY drew clear at once, established a rapid pace for five furlongs and weakened. WILD FOX broke sluggishly, was sent up close to the pace and failed to respond in the late stages. The latter was taken up sharply on the far turn, regained stride quickly, rushed past horses on the outside, swung over to the rail in the stretch and was catching the winner. FINAL PROOF moved to engage for command after six furlongs, went along with the pace to the late tretch and weakened. QUATREFOIL was best of the others. BIT 0 GLOW had no mishap.
