Elect Kohout to HBPA Central Division Post Defeats Beck by 218-188 Vote For Vice-Presidency of Section HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111., June 19.— Joseph Kohout was elected vice-president of the central division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association in the annual balloting for that post yesterday. The balloting took place here at Washington Park and at Fairmount Park at Collinsville, HI. Kohout, who served previously in the office, defeated John F. Beck, the only other candidate, by a vote of 218 to 188. The following owners were elected members of the central division committee: R. B. Cameron, Emil Denemark, Dave Ferguson, N. L. Raffelman and H. D. Maggio. Trainers named to the committee were Paul Larvis, J. L. Oglesby, Howard. Wells, R. Harold Raines and Jake Lowenstein. Kohout in his last term of office was succeeded by Lawrence H. Thompson, who did not stand for election this time.
